First of all: Great prices. Cute place but too many LED's (Very cold bright white) lights kill the atmosphere.. All the appetizers we had yesterday were tasting the same but that's maybe our fault as we had the waiters make the choice and this might have been her liking...Tempura this tempura that, all is the same. Lettuce wraps were nice and the lettuce crips. The beer was ice cold and the service pretty good. We tried a spicy tuna roll... mmmm 90% rice.. Go eat at the competition boys to learn about rolls. Only a few real sashimi items on the list but that's probably the area.. Not many TRUE sashimi extravagantness walking in NPR. We'll try it once more to see if choosing our own selections might help.

As you walk in to this very dark and sexy Asian atmosphere you quickly realize you're in for a treat. The décor will keep your eyes busy for awhile and the cool temperature wakes you up a bit. Everything was very neat and tidy and has a downtown Tampa type feel. This would be a great place for a date night or a birthday party. Our waitress was Susie and she was very friendly and helpful with explaining the menu and the best served items. Courtnnie and I always share so we decided to get a tempura roll and goyza. Both plates came with a good sized portion. The roll was a specialty roll and normally I'm used to having them served with about 8 pieces. These pieces were cut smaller which is perfect for someone who doesn't want to cut the roll in half or have a mouthful. There were about 12 or 14 pieces to this roll and it made it very easy to share. My favorite was the goyza though. It came with 5 pieces and it was very fresh and not greasy at all. We ended up clearing our plates and looking at the menu for more. The menu offers 6 desserts and plenty more appetizers which don't all include raw food. We ended up getting the banana split which we didn't quite care for. Next time we're going to try the fried ice cream instead. Yum!

We were in the area visiting family for Christmas and kept driving by this place. Finally we went in Thursday night at around 9pm. It wasn't very busy, but the staff was super attentive and pleasant. And although it isn't very PC to say so,..we noticed two tables of Asian people about our age (late 20's/early 30s), so we figured this place must be good, lol! Overall we were very satified. Appetizers were half off that night. We had edamame and dumplings w/ sesame sauce. For dinner we had the Scorpion roll, Buddha roll, and Spicy Tuna roll. The Scorpion roll is quite spicy but very good. The others were very good too. Almost better than the food was the music. Think 1998 hip/hop radio ( Total, Mase, Missy Elliot, Ginuwine, etc) Just kinda took me back at little. I would def. recommend this place. Our total bill was under $30 for two.

We love everything about this place. Great sushi and traditional dinners. The happy hour is awesome too, usually when we come in and get stuffed for half price. Highly recommend!!!

We made the grave error of ordering take out from this establishment. While the soups we got were heated nicely, they were, in my opinion, NOT fresh or home made The chives in the broth were so over cooked they were melting. The seafood in the Spicy Sea Food soup were over cooked and rubbery, THE worse thing we got were the "Spring Rolls" . Egads! The two slices of shrimp per roll were wooden and bland to the point of being unrecognizable as shrimp! The biggest offence was the sticky nasty raw wonton wrapper they were wrapped in. It looked like translucent flesh and was nasty to the touch and the palate. We had tried eating in this place prior, and it was so dark in the restaurant that we couldn't see what we were eating. After getting a look at the "spring rolls" I now believe that NOT seeing their "food' was a much kinder act! NEVER AGAIN!

So this was the first time my husband and I visited this establishment. Nataly was our server, very polite. We came to check out their happy hour for sushi. Quality was on point, freshness and the smell of the restaurant overall was never fishy. We are very impressed and will be back atleast a few more times.

Don't let the exterior fool you. This place has very good sushi at a reasonable price. My wife and I frequent Grille One Nine, usually as carry out customers. The sushi is expertly made and the sushimi is always fresh. Hard to beat that in NPR. It misses the five star mark in that it reminds me of every other GOOD sushi place I have ever been. Nothing original here. That is not necessarily a bad thing though.

The first thing I think when I walk into Grille One Nine is.. Wow.. this place looks way too cool for the location. The outside is misleading with the cheesy window paint. It takes away from the sophistication of the interior design. Ive eaten at G19 a few times and never been disappointed with the food. They make one of the best sea weed salad's (Wakame and Mango) Ive had. I would go with the Hawaii Five-0 roll as my top sushi item on their menu. The service is sometimes really good but Ive also had servers that were a bit on the slower side. On average, its been acceptable. My top issue with G19 is that it is a small restaurant and they pack as many tables into the small space as they possibly can. I was sitting less than a foot away from another customer... a complete stranger. It was uncomfortable. I don't like to be cramped, especially when Im eating. If not for this factor, they would be four stars.. but for now unless the parking lot car count is on the low side.. Ill be getting take-out.

My family and thoroughly enjoyed Grille One nine after becoming disenchanted with Grille 54. We loved the Happy Hour Specials and made it on Sunday as often as we could. We had several different servers but none compared to Jose. After we met him we always requested him. There was a few time we called ahead to see if he was working and didn't go because he was off. The TNT Mussels are the BOMB and the cooks would sometimes shudder when we walked in cause they knew we would order at least 4 orders of them! The Sushi is fresh and the presentation is great. The price is even better although they do seem to make the happy hour rolls a bit smaller. :( The drinks are good and Jose would always have something interesting for us to try. Jose, if you read this I am sad to say we have moved to California that is why you have not seen us. I know you were surprised to know we were from Hudson, I guess you were right we didn't quite fit in. I wish you well my friend and hope to see you again when we come to town. The Adams Clan

Good service but plenty of better places for sushi. We chose five rolls and they were bland and unexciting. Choose against the lollipop roll...nice presentation but all cucumber. Gave this place a second try but would not return.

Food was good, the service struggled to keep up, I finally got my meal correct about the time everyone at the table was about half way through their meals. The girl knew the service was not great but still forced a 20% gratuity on the check (we were a party of 6), I was also surprised to see that it was 20% on the after tax number ( WTF would anyone tip 20% on sales tax?)

Very nice climate inside this nice little sushi/restaurant. On the dark side to make it a little bit on romantic side. They gave some great happy hour prices during the week. They also have some lunchtime 3 roll specials with a great selection of the rolls. Prices on the sushi sashimi combos ate a little bit pricey but the quality if the sushi is worth paying a bit more then other port richey sushi places. A great place to go to right on the corner of moog Rd and us 19 N. Used to be a Popeyes so building is on the smaller side.

Excellent Sushi at amazing prices! We drive 25 minutes out of our way to come to New Port Richey for Sushi - crazy, right? Can't come close to the sushi anywhere in the Palm Harbor area! Their happy hour lasts until 7 weekly and all sushi rolls are $3, we picked 6 different rolls plus $2 sashimi -amazing quality! The line is always out the door so get there early for Happy Hour - well worth the drive and wait. Every roll tastes perfectly fresh and all the platters going by us looked wonderful too!! We love this place for sushi, we have been coming here for the past year. Pleasant and polite service. You won't be disappointed!

First time at this restaurant. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is vibrant, but the cooks don't know how to make a filet mignon or scallops flambé. I just about cried when my wife cut into her steak. That cow was dead and buried. The scallops, in spite of there being all these nice colors, actually had zero flavor. Not sure it was possible until now. Wish it was better, but if the guys behind the counter need serious training. On a positive note, the sushi looked very good!

Went Sunday for the pretty terrific happy hour, which is the only thing saving this review from being one star. On Sunday and throughout the week at different times certain menu items are featured. They have about 10 Sushi rolls for $3 and all apps are half price. $2 house wines and domestic bottles of beer. We were seated right at six but not given a happy hour menu. We asked the hostess and she handed us one. A party of six was seated to our left, a party of four to our right, within moments of our being seated. A waitress greeted the party of 6 immediately. About four minutes later a server took a drink order from the party of 4. After dropping off the drinks and taking an appetizer order the server greeted us. We ordered drinks, I ordered a wine and a glass of water. The wine came quickly and we placed our appetizer order. One of the menu items we selected seemed to throw our server off, the crab and mint wontons (which were awesome) so I pointed to the item on the menu. The tables beside us received their appetizers. Another server brought us one of the 3 appetizers we ordered. She placed it on the table while looking over her shoulder. She never spoke to us. I asked her for my water anyway. Our server brought me out wonton soup. I told him we hadn't ordered a soup and he told me "yes we had. The wontons." I explained to him I was referring to the crab and mint wontons, which I ordered by the full name AND pointed to. He responded that he didn't think so. I told him I knew so and is also ordered a water. He rolled his eyes and walked away. He brought my water, the correct app, and all of our sushi. At this point the tables around us were paying. We ate, I have nothing but great reviews for the food, asked for a box, and check. He brought both, set the box on top of our food, and left. It was 7:46. At 7:58 he had still not returned. I was very disappointed I the service. We usually sit at the sushi bar and if I ever return (which isn't likely) we will make sure to sit there again.

Our normal every other Saturday go to for sushi. Love the sushi rolls and deals the have here. Nick and the guys do an awesome job of making the rolls and make you feel like a regular. Hands down the best sushi in Pasco.

The good sushi restaurant around and always crowded everyday. Big party with a whole family sometimes too. I am a picky eater and mostly because I can cook a lot of thing. I came here with my bf often and enjoyed our meal both of lunch and dinner. Food is good, service is wonderful with fun staff, and the restaurant is nice as well. Come here to see what it looks like and you will learn how to like sushi and more variety of the food they serve here.

Jamie was our server! She is easy one the eyes and will drink a sake bomb! She was funny, made sure we were attended to, and she is the reason we go back. The Korean Coffee was great too!

Finally, I've gotten to go. The inside is classy and cool, the Happy Hour the best deal in town. $3 rolls, $2 sashimi, $1 nigiri. I got three rolls and two nigiri, and a wonton soup. The soup was exquisite, easily the best wonton soup I've ever had. The sushi rolls themselves... I admit that they were a tiny bit blander than I like, could have used spicy mayo or some condiment to ravish them, but they were nice. The nigiri was exquisite and I will be going back for that alone, as well as to try some of their cooked food as well. The prices are exact, by the way. As in, if they say three rolls and two nigiri is $11, they mean $11.00, tax included.

Best sushi in town!! The volcano roll is amazing!! Service was good... Atmosphere is dark and candle lit make sure you wear a sweater it's cold in there.. They need a bigger location it is a little cramped in there and you may be sitting a little closer to strangers than you may like.. But the food is definitely worth it!

Great sushi! I was skeptical to try this place because my husband and I love Ichiban in Trinity, but when we saw Grill One Nine had a $3 sushi roll happy hour we had to try it. It was delicious! We tried 3 rolls and they were all very tasty and fresh. My only complaint is it has a small dining area so to maximize the space you sit right next to people. It reminded me of how restaurants are in NYC. Other than that, this place is great and we will definitely be returning!

Not a deserving 5 star sushi joint BUT I have 5 because it's the best place to eat in NPR. IMO it's a 4 by way of sushi. It's Really the only place to get decent sushi and soups, teriyaki bowls are good too. Even the marinated steak meal is good if your tired of sushi. My fav roll is the "one nine" roll, order with "extra mayo, extra eel sauce" with a Thai wonton soup app and ginger salad.

Excellent sushi!! My wife and I go to One Nine regularly and love the sushi rolls and ginger salad. The girls are pleasant and sweet. We have gotten several friends hooked on the sushi there, so it's not just me...

We've been to Grill One Nine so often that one particular waiter knows our order by heart. I could have sworn that I've written them up before. Today though, They disappointed us. The food is normally very good, and today was no exception. For the summer they have a few new options, and instead of my usual NY Strip and grilled vegetables I opted for the Chicken Tempura and vegetables. My Husband got the Udon soup with tempura. We also ordered three different sushi rolls. Since I don't eat sushi, this is a big deal. The husband has a ravenous sushi appetite, but me.. No thanks, i'll pass! But they do it well! I always get their Hawaii five-o roll and it's always good. Tonight, our meals came out, we ate, and at the end, they FINALLY brought out our sushi. Apparently they were down one Sushi chef, and one of guys was new, so the service was beyond SLOW. Though it makes me wonder if they weren't serving the larger orders out first, since I saw a table get served their sushi before us, and they came in well after us. *shrug*

I've been to this place twice now, and it's been pretty good, but there isn't anything particularly special about it. The chairs are kind of weird, which is more of a personal preference than anything else. They have a special where you can buy two specialty rolls and get one free. The problem is, most of their specialty rolls are kind of, well, weird. And if you aren't a fan of asparagus, you will want to avoid this place altogether, because 80% or more of the specialty rolls have asparagus in them. Having said that, their raspberry tea is delicious, and we've always had good service from servers.

Armed with my freshly printed certificate from restaurant.com , it was time to venture out into the world of sushi, NPR style. I have to say that it was pretty darned good. Three of the four previous reviewers praised the great prices. I'm going to guess they were there at the 5-7pm "happy hour" time. $1 and $2 sushi and sashimi, along with selected $3 specialty rolls is indeed great. I will plan my next visit during that time span. After 7pm the fare is fairly priced for reasonably good offerings. I learned from my two guests that the building was once a Popeye's fast food joint. The transformation is pretty impressive. It's an attractive room along a wasteland of tired old eateries that litter this stretch of US Hwy 19. My table ordered (2) Saigon Won-Ton Soups to start. The presentation was good. The price was certainly reasonable ($3.95). The reviews were mixed. There seemed to be a distinct flavor of bacon grease in the broth. I kind of liked it, but I didn't order it. My guests were not excited. The only entree ordered at the table was the Tokyo Stir Fry w/chicken ($11.95). The thick udon noodles left the diner unimpressed. Her husband liked it. I probably would not order it on a return visit. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't memorable. Let's face it, I was there for the sushi... The fun came with the sushi. We ordered a Sushi Roll (yellowtail), Spicy Tuna Roll, Rainbow Roll, Lollipop Roll, and Jade Dragon Roll. Priced between $4.95 and $8.95, you can't complain about the prices. The presentation was very nice. I would pass on the Lollipop Roll next time. Everything else was good (not great). Our server (Jose) was certainly up for the task. He was there when we needed him, and not there when we didn't. He was enthusiastic, helpful, and efficient. I'd absolutely recommend the lad. Grille One Nine will certainly find it's way into my regular rotation.

Boo! Service was beyond terrible!! If we would have gotten our food, I imagine it would have been good. We walked out after 40 minutes of waiting with only four other tables being serviced(?). Lost my business. Management gave excuses after I called and complained. Ownership should take note.

Best Vietnamese Beef noodle soup in town. Got to get my fix at least once a week. Great Happy hour deals too.

Good food and nice atmosphere with very reasonable prices. The servers can step their game up a lot. I have had mediocre to poor service each time I have been there (twice for dinner and twice for lunch). Very very slow greeting, no menus, waiting over ten minutes for water, slow check/cash out. But hey, you pay for what you get. I'm okay with the poor service because the atmosphere and prices for the quality of food makes up the difference!
